Welcome to Pilates Place – a division of Thompsons Road Physiotherapy.
We offer over 30 clinical pilates and exercise rehabilitation classes every week, all supervised by qualified physiotherapists. Our studio is modern, comfortable and accessible, fitted out with a range of specialised pilates and exercise equipment including reformers, trapeze table, swiss balls and more.
Our classes are limited to a maximum of four participants, so you receive attention and care from your instructor. Programmes are individualised and customised to meet your personal movement goals.
Who is suitable for our exercise rehab and pilates classes?
Our classes suit people of all ages and fitness levels. We combine pilates and exercise rehabilitation principles to provide exercise options suited to promote health and treat a range of conditions, including:
- spinal pain
- muscle strains and ligament sprains
- post-operative recovery
- chronic pain
- stiffness and loss of mobility
- poor balance and postural problems
- sports injuries
- pre-, peri- and post-natal exercise
- return to exercise/activity
- general fitness and wellbeing
How do I get started?
All clients starting pilates with us must book in for a one-hour 1:1 assessment/orientation with a physiotherapist who will look at movement, discuss injuries, set goals, and create your customised exercise programme. After that you may continue with one or two more 1:1 standard sessions to review the programme. Once you are ready, you can join a class and get started!
How long do I attend classes for?
We recommend a minimum of 10-12 classes (or equivalent of three months attending weekly) to gain measurable and lasting benefits from exercises and achieve your goals. We aim to review your progress and outcomes intermittently, to ensure you are getting the most out of your programme.
Many of our clients continue attending classes over longer periods of time, according to their goals and health needs.
