We now offer yoga classes and therapeutic yoga sessions at our sister studio, leaf+bird wellbeing.
Yoga combines physical postures, breathing and meditation exercises to promote wellness through improving strength, mobility and mindfulness. In a yoga class you will experience a combination of breathing exercises, movements that stretch and strengthen and build body awareness, and meditation/mindfulness.
The studio is managed by our physiotherapist Lauren and our classes are run by qualified yoga instructors. They blend modern approaches to health with traditional and contemporary yoga teaching to provide safe, thoughtful, enjoyable yoga classes.
Our physiotherapist Lauren Broomhall, also offers 1:1 therapeutic yoga sessions of 30 and 60 minutes. If you don’t feel ready for class yet, or would like to workshop some poses or learn how to practice yoga for a specific condition/injury, this is a great option for you. Standard physiotherapy fees apply for these 1:1 consultations.
WHO CAN DO YOGA?
Everyone! It is suitable for all levels, ages, genders and abilities for people with good general health.
I’M TOTALLY NEW TO YOGA – WHERE TO START?
If you are healthy and injury-free, we recommend that you start in a beginner level class to familiarise yourself with key poses. These classes run at a slower pace, and include poses that are accessible to most. Instructors will offer options at various levels, so you can adapt to your ability.
I HAVE AN INJURY/CONDITION – CAN I DO YOGA?
If you have specific health issues, we strongly recommend that you attend a 60 minute 1:1 yoga assessment with Lauren BEFORE joining class, to ensure you can participate safely, and learn how to adapt in class.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Loose-fitting, stretchy clothing that you can move in. Note you will be exercising in bare feet. Don’t wear jewellery that will get caught or dangle in the way.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Bring your own drink bottle and small sweat towel. We provide mats and equipment at the studio.
HOW DO I PAY?
For your convenience, you can make all your class bookings and payments online at leaf+bird wellbeing, or using the MINDBODY App on your smart phone.
