COVID19 Victorian Update Thursday 27th May 2021 – we are open for essential physiotherapy care

Dear Clients – we will continue to provide essential physiotherapy healthcare services during the 7-day Victorian lockdown. Please note that all group exercise classes and wellbeing classes are temporarily suspended for the week.

Our physiotherapists are permitted to continue working to treat clients who need to access essential care in rooms. This means any patient that is currently experiencing a condition or problem that needs timely treatment, for example:

  • Acute vertigo or dizziness
  • Recent surgery that needs post-operative care and rehabilitation
  • New or recent injury that is impacting function and mobility, that may worsen if not treated
  • Serious pain or dysfunction that may lead to further escalation of care if not treated
  • Any condition that may lead to further escalation of care if not treated

This means that physiotherapists are currently permitted to work and help clients in order to avoid deterioration of health, or to prevent an escalation of care needs (eg. increased medication, hospitalisation or further medical treatment or imaging, or a substantial increase in time required for recovery due to delayed care).

Physiotherapists are also currently permitted to provide care for clients where physiotherapy is part of a broader plan with a medical practitioner,  to prevent secondary complications following surgery, and to aid functional recovery. Physiotherapists are also permitted to provide care for clients on a plan that is intended to prevent or delay elective surgery.

Routine care is not permitted during this lockdown period. We can provide Telehealth consultations if you need to consult with your physio for non-essential input.

Please call us to make an appointment if you require physiotherapy treatment or a telehealth consult, or if you have questions about how to access care during this time – we are happy to help. Ph. 9850-4437.
